Frequently asked questions
FAQ
Answers to frequently asked questions about sworn translations.
Costs & Delivery Times
How much does a sworn translation cost?
For small documents, I charge a minimum fee of €65. For larger documents, the price depends on the length and complexity of the text. Feel free to request a non-binding quotation.
How fast can you deliver?
Delivery times depend on the length of the document and my current availability. Small documents can often be completed at short notice. Please contact me for an estimate of the turnaround time.
Submitting your documents
Is a scanned copy of my document sufficient?
In many cases, a clear scan or photograph of your document is sufficient for me to prepare a quotation and complete the translation. The receiving authority will ultimately determine whether the original document or a hard copy of the translation must be submitted.
Do I have to send the original document?
Usually not. In most cases, a good-quality scan is sufficient. If the original document is required, the receiving authority will inform you.
My document contains errors. Can these be corrected in the translation?
No. A sworn translation must be a faithful and accurate representation of the original document. Spelling mistakes and other errors in the original must therefore be reproduced in the translation.
Sworn Status & Qualifications
Do I need a sworn translation?
t depends on the authority or organisation for which the document is intended. Government authorities, municipalities, insurance companies and courts often require a sworn translation. Unsure? Please contact me contact or request a non-binding quotation.
For which language combinations do you provide sworn translations?
I am authorised as a sworn translator in the Netherlands for the language combinations French ↔ Dutch and English ↔ Dutch. In addition, I am authorised as a sworn translator in Luxembourg for the language combination French ↔ Dutch.
Can I receive my sworn translation digitally?
Yes. Depending on the requirements of the receiving authority, a sworn translation can be provided either in digital form or as a hard copy.
Can I have a translation prepared by someone else or by AI certified as a sworn translation?
No. I may only provide a sworn translation of a document that I have translated myself.
International situations

I need a sworn translation for use outside the European Union. Can you provide one?
